People’s Television Ltd. is a company incorporated in the Turks and Caicos Islands, British West Indies. Our affiliate company, Andrew’s Communications Ltd. is licensed to provide Telecommunications Services and Cable Television Services to Grand Turk, Providenciales, Dellis Cay, Pine Cay and West Caicos. Our Broadcast Center is located at Stubbs Diamond Plaza, Providenciales.

The programs we offer are entertaining, informative, provocative and impartial. Moreover, specific programs on PTV including our Newscast are broadcast in the Bahamas, South Florida, New York and New Jersey. In addition we offer several Creole Programs with a half hour Newscast from Jamaica to come soon. Our local Channel 8 beams directly into the homes on North Caicos facilitated by our arrangement with Island  Cable Network Ltd.

People’s Television began official broadcast on November 10th, 2008 from its studio at Stubbs Diamond Plaza.  The station is steadily growing in popularity largely due to the cutting edge look and information delivered during its half hour news programme, PTV News Watch with the slogan, ‘Real News, for Real People.’

Our over the air signal has been called a ‘blessing’ for many residents who had previously been unable to enjoy quality local programming.  We have also managed to convey, with confidence, that our airwave signal will continue to be sent and received even after the June 12th, 2009 date for a switch to digital in the United States.  Eventually, PTV8 will broadcast in digital quality in Providenciales (and all other islands of The Turks and Caicos); this is already being practiced in North Caicos.  At that time, People’s Television will also expand its channel offering to 75 digitally transmitted television stations.

One achievement of the company is its affiliation with TropikTV out of South Florida.  This Creole-based network has allowed PTV News Watch to be broadcast in four major Caribbean populous cities outside of the islands:  South Florida, New York, New Jersey and The Bahamas.  Our agreement with www.TropikTV.tv gives us the right to carry their original Creole programming to the delight of thousands of Haitians living in The TCI, and it gives them the same right to air our shows on their channel (and website) which broadcasts digitally on Cable Bahamas, Time Warner and Comcast.

The People’s Television news and programming team is ably led by veteran journalist, Deandrea Hamilton (Producer) and extensively trained video editor, Enrico Angeles (Editor).  Newscasters also include upcoming professionals, Davia Chambers and Lamuela Johnson.  News and show production is aided by Assistant Producer & Editor, Adrain Stubbs.

PTV’s motto is, “A Vision you can Believe in” and Executive Producer/Managing Director of the company, Kay Stubbs is the key person marketing the vision to the masses; she serves as the PTV contact for Advertising and Programming bookings.  The visionaire of PTV is her husband, Peter A. Stubbs.
